Business Envestors was first launched as the Business and Environment Management Scheme (BeMS) in 1999. The project was developed and is managed by Peterborough Environment City Trust (PECT). In 2003 BeMS was awarded a Green Apple for Environmental Best Practice in recognition of its work with businesses to improve efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
In 2008 we launched a series of new services, looking to be able to provide businesses with a more flexible support service that would meet the varying needs of the business community, and in particular, a growing demand for businesses to achieve accreditations such as ISO14001.
Peterborough Environment City Trust (PECT) is a dynamic and innovative organisation which has been at the forefront of sustainable development in Peterborough. Now in its 15th year, the Trust continues to deliver projects across the City driving forward Peterborough’s aim to become UK Environment Capital.
PECT’s aim is to lead and support the city in delivering growth and regeneration in an environmentally sustainable way. As a successful charity PECT works with a wide variety of stakeholders and partners to make a real difference – through innovation, enterprise and commitment to action on the ground. PECT has a strong track record of delivering projects of local, regional and national significance. PECT was formed from a unique environmental partnership of local authorities, businesses, community and environmental organisations.
